For decades, Amsterdammers have been notified about the start of autumn by our green posters advertising IJbok, the city’s classic bock beer. Since a couple of years we offer them a little more than just expected quality. This year we brewed two additional beers as seasonal surprises.
The Sidamo Guji Ale is almost velvety in its softness. We opted to infuse it with a bit of quality coffee, which we selected with the local roaster of Catch Coffee. It is no more than a litre, added to a batch of almost two thousand, but it gives this beer a beautiful mouth feel. An uplifting beer for the fall.
The Dubbelbok, by contrast, is a heavyweight that does not hesitate to reveal its outspoken maltiness. It is build on a rich variety of malts. Most of them dark, some of them smoked. Result: sweetness, smokyness and a whole lot of alcohol (9,5%). Not for the faint hearted.
