Fruited Wheat Ale
Over the past few months, we spent some time over the kettles to come up with a new Fruited Wheat Ale with Brouwerij Eleven in Utrecht. ‘Lovebirds’ is an easy summer beer with 5.6% alcohol. We wanted to brew something special that wasn’t too complicated, and that everyone would enjoy. You’ll probably notice the touch of crisp citrus from raspberries, blood oranges and lemons. Adding wheat gives the Fruited Wheat Ale a full, round flavour.
The beer is named after the Agapornis parrot, commonly known as the ‘lovebird’. When we were trying to come up with a name, our brand manager showed up from his holidays with a new travel companion: Tweety the lovebird. He couldn’t have arrived at a better moment, because ‘Lovebirds’ is the perfect name for the beer. After all; it was born out of love – we only work together with people who share our love for beer, and Eleven and ‘t IJ definitely have that click!
